What is Goji Berry? Goji berry is a fruit of a shrub native to China and Tibet, also known as wolfberry. Legend says over 2000 years ago, a traveling doctor stumbled upon a village in China where everyone was more than 100 years old. Fascinated, the doctor looked for the cause until he found a concentration of goji berries and plants surrounding the town well.
Regardless of the accuracy of the legend, we do know goji berries have been used in East Asian food, drink and medicine for thousands of years. In recent years, Western culture’s adoption of the “superfruit” has led to widespread acceptance of its beneficial properties.
